My Personal Perception

We live in a highly contextual world where it is increasingly easy to misunderstand. As you view PERCEPTION REFRAMING, it is beneficially important that I share with you the foundational perception upon which this blog is built. I know I am not perfect, therefore my perception is not perfect as well. however, both you and I have perceptions which impact each other and all others with whom they are shared. The more we share, whether by voice or example, the greater influence we have on the world around us. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

As I share with you my experiences and the way I view life, I invite you to share with me the piece of truth I may be missing. For all have not every gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God. To some is given one, and to some is given another, that all may be profited thereby (Doctrine and Covenants 46:11-12). I do not ask in writing this blog that you change what you believe; rather, my whole intention is for you to consider and examine how and why you believe what you do.

I am a strong Christian and was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know Jesus Christ lives and loves each of us. he proved this when he suffered and bled for our sins. he paid the price for our follies, for our pains, and for our grieves. Men are, that they might have joy (2 Nephi 2:25). Because of Christ, there is life after death and it is something to prepare and look forward to with gladness. Families are meant to be and can be forever through proper covenants and worthiness. Each individual chose in the pre-mortal life to come to earth, to receive a body of flesh and bones, and have needed experiences that we may return back into our Heavenly Father's presence. I was raised in the gospel (or in other words, "good news") of Jesus Christ. By my own will I choose to always love and serve Him.

I was born to parents who love and respect me. I know many are not blessed with such good parents, but I have my own set of challenges as well. I am the second child of eight. I am the oldest girl, and, as such, have always felt to have had great responsibility. I am blessed with earthly parents who have always had a strong marriage. I am somewhat close with all of my large extended family. My dad is a marriage and family counselor, and has been for the past twenty years. Though it is most difficult to counsel yourself and your own close relations, my roots are immersed somewhat in philosophy and psychology.

In short, I am blessed. Again, I share my life of blessings that perhaps you may more often be filled with sunshine in your heart as well, and come to recognize more fully how perfectly our Father in Heaven loves his children, us, individually in a very personal way.
